The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is a new regulation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU). The GDPR will fundamentally change the data protection regime in Europe. As of May 25, 2018, this new data protection regime will enter into force in Austria and will bring significant changes in the daily work of companies.
In the future, under certain conditions mentioned in Article 30 of the GDPR, the controller will be responsible for managing his own data applications in his own directory. In certain cases, data protection impact assessments (Article 35 GDPR) are required to assess the legality of certain data uses.
To fulfill the legal requirements concerning the documentation of data applications lawvision has developed a new system to support companies - DPMSreport offers a new dataprivacy management system, that simplifies the creation of the required GDPR-documentation such as the maintainance of a record of processing activities, the creation of a data protection impact assessment and the rights of the data subject.
